Thank you for your past patronage of the shows we’ve presented at the grande but intimate and lovely Royal Theatre. From the record-breaking sales and standing ovations of MAMMA MIA! in 2012 to the Sold Out run of BEAUTIFUL - The Carole King Musical just over a year ago, we’ve been fortunate to experience some of the best Broadway has to offer in our very own city. We had another Broadway Blockbuster scheduled for a Victoria premiere this summer, which we were going to announce in March, 2021. Unfortunately, we all know how that storyline was interrupted.
But the floodlights of the Royal Theatre will light up once again with spectacular entertainment.
Once it is safe to return to the experience of live performance, we will be announcing the next shows of the Great White Way coming to our very own Royal Theatre.
Being on this list ensures you will be amongst the very first to receive any announcements and opportunities for ticket sales. Until then, thank you for your patronage, patience and continued creative spirit.
We’ll see you all at the theatre, together again.
From the world of the imagination and make-believe.
Broadway In Victoria
2012 - Set a record for single day tickets sales at the Royal Theatre - 4,000 tickets. Sold out run.
2013 - Public demo at The Atrium 6-mths prior was swamped. Then, Langford mayor shuts down streets for STOMP performance on the eve of Victoria's opening night - thousands attend! The show: A hit!
2016 - MAMMA MIA's! Farewell Tour. The show retained its timeless popularity to the end.
2017 - We had a hunch smoldering hot bods, crime and fishnet would interest Victoria folk. We were right. CHICAGO set a new single day ticket sales record at the Royal Theatre - 4,700 tickets. Sold out run.
2019 - Rodgers and Hammerstein's legendary musical, Catherine Zuber costumes and the largest show to appear at the Royal Theatre wowed audiences.
2019 - The incredible rags-to-riches story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. To paraphrase one of the Boys, "There are three ways to get out of town: You can join the Army, you can get Mobbed Up, or you can take the BC Ferry", which they did.
2020 - Carole King's album, Tapestry was #1 on the Billboard charts for 15-weeks in 1971. 49-years, or two generations later, Beautiful sold out its run at the Royal Theatre. Carole King didn't write the soundtrack to a generation. She wrote it for two generations!!
